Joe Cullen insists he is good enough to win a major following his European Darts Matchplay triumph

Joe Cullen insists he is good enough to win a major after he maintained the European Darts Matchplay tournament on Sunday.
Cullen, nicknamed’Rockstar’, acquired his maiden European Tour title with a remarkable victory over world No 1 Michael van Gerwen in the final.
He’s set his sights on glory in the coming months, although the 30-year-old in Bradford includes three PDC rank titles to his name.
“One hundred percent it’s about time I got into a European Tour final, let alone winning one. It’s been a long time coming,” said Cullen, who is now back in the world’s top 16.
“To beat the man himself MVG in the last would be a dream come true, I can not put into words how happy I am at the minute.
“Hopefully this will get me to the Grand Slam, because I’ve never played that championship in my own career.
“If I’m good enough to acquire one of these then I am good enough to win a big.”
It is not very long to wait until darts is back on Sky Sports, the World Grand Prix gets underway on Sunday, October 6 at Dublin’s Citywest Arena October 12, and seven times of coverage continues until the closing on Saturday.
