LA Rams linebacker Clay Matthews out for up to six weeks with broken jaw

Los Angeles Rams linebacker Clay Matthews is going to likely be sidelined for four to six months trainer Sean McVay told reporters.
Matthews will undergo surgery, based on McVay. That is not good to us, the trainer said. That is a big injury.
Matthews sustained the injury on Thursday to the Seattle Seahawks during Los Angeles 30-29 loss.
McVay says that he considers it happened when Seattle running back Chris Carson unintentionally kicked at Matthews from the face.
Matthews, 33, was off to a solid start with the Rams in his first season.
Hes 19 tackles in five games, two forced fumbles and six sacks.
Matthews, who spent his first 10 NFL seasons with the Green Bay Packers, has 89.5 career sacks in 148 games (142 begins ).
Rams receiver Brandin Cooks (concussion) was hurt and was placed in the NFL protocol.
Thursday cooks was hurt in the fourth quarter.
Cooks has 20 receptions for 325 yards and one touchdown. He awakened 1,000 receiving yards in each of the preceding four seasons – twice with all the New Orleans Saints, once with the New England Patriots and with the Rams in 2018.
